Recently a young mother of two phoned, desperate for food. She had no money and only a can of corn in the house. She connected with a food pantry in her neighborhood that provided a grocery bag full of groceries for her family. The pantry helped her weekly until she was able to find a job. Now she volunteers some weekends at the food pantry that helped meet her need when she found herself in a desperate situation.
